Artwork Guide

File Format

Adobe Illustrator (AI or PDF) preferred, PDFs exported from other applications and other file formats (ie, PSD, PNG, JPEG) are accepted - but quality and colour cannot be guaranteed. Vector graphics preferred. Ask your designer for a ‘Print Ready’ file.

Font

No live fonts. All fonts must be converted to paths/outlines. This includes any fonts not visible on final design.

Images

All images embedded or provided with no missing links. Resolution should be 300dpi or above when at 100% scale. Print quality cannot be guaranteed otherwise.

Colour

CMYK colour space, not RGB, RGB is for on screen viewing, not print. Images may look vibrant on screen, but printed output is always CMYK and can look significantly different. No colour profiling required. Do not use overprints unless setting up for metallic, clear or spot varnish.

Pantone Colours

Do not use Pantones. Convert to CMYK beforehand. As digital printers we match as close as possible, but converting them will give you a closer impression of the final print. As with RGB, some Pantones are impossible to achieve with CMYK ouput.

Spot Colours

Spot colours are only required for metallic, clear or spot varnish finishes. We can set this up for you but there may be a origination charge. Alternatively, contact us to inform you on how to setup artwork for print using spot colours.

Cutline

A cutline helps us see the intended edge, but do not make it printable. Cutlines are not essential, but if they are showing, ensure they’re on a non-printing layer, easy to turn off, or on a separate page. Do not put artwork intended for print on the cutline layer.

Bleed

1mm bleed (minimum) on all edges. Bleed is artwork beyond the cutline. If you are providing bleed without an indicated cutline, inform us how much bleed there is. We can sometimes add bleed easily. If we can’t we will contact you. An origination charge may be incurred.

Scale

Always send artwork at 100% scale. If you require us to enlarge or reduce then please inform us of the final intended size.

Hidden Items

Remove all unwanted and hidden items from your design. Both on and off the artboard.
